Photo by Alma Photography via Polka Dot Bride

A very good friend of mine and her husband is going to have their second wedding celebration early next year. She has a Filipino background while her husband is American. I'm actually excited to see how the families come together. Weddings are a great time to celebrate your family's traditions and heritage. Highlighting the bride and groom's culture can make the wedding both personal and memorable.

Designer Wedding Dresses under $600

WTOO Wedding Dress "Poppy" - $596.00

Choosing the wedding dress is a huge part of the wedding planning process! After all, every bride wants to look amazing in the dress of their dreams, but not everyone wants to spend an outrageous amount. In 2012, the average cost of the wedding dress is between $900 and $1280. But as I was looking around for a wedding dress, I found out that there are many ways to create and find the gown of your dreams. I have found some beautiful options that are big on style and yet are all under $600. (Yes, less than the average cost of a wedding dress!)

Bridal Jackets, Wraps, Capes and Shrugs

I love bridal shrugs. Jacket, bolero, shrug, wrap - all are gorgeous accent pieces that serves so many purposes. For brides getting married in the fall or winter, a soft (faux) fur jacket can keep you warm all day. In summer, a delicate beaded shrug can cover bare arms during the church ceremony. Anytime of the year, a sparkling bolero can add that personal flair to any wedding dress.

Colored Wedding Dresses

Source: Left, Middle, Right

Today, we are in the era of colored wedding dresses. Different shades of white are still the most popular bridal choice, but now some brides are bold and opt for some color in their wedding dress. Just keep in mind a wedding dress should fit the body style, build, skin tone while matching any color themes for the wedding itself, but most importantly, a wedding dress should match the personality of the bride too.

Lighting creates feeling of warmth and ambiance that transforms a mundane space into something utterly magical, dramatic, rustic, romantic, modern, colorful, or intimate. Re-create that moment from your favorite romantic film, or that unforgettable sunset, or a candlelit dinner with the one you love, lighting creates ambiance. Make some glowing memories, with candles, lanterns, or fairy lights surrounding you and your loved ones on your big day. If you really want to go all out, why not have a fireworks finale?

Non-Matching Bridesmaid Dress Ideas

Non-matching bridesmaid dresses are a very popular choice among brides — encouraging bridesmaids to wear something that generally coordinates. Nowadays, bridesmaids can wear a dress that suits their own unique figure, budget, and personality. It might sound odd, but it can be done and it can look amazing! Honestly, I love the way it looks.
