Pomander (Kissing Balls) Wedding Ideas

Pomanders are a great way to spice up your wedding decorations. I simply love how cute and chic they are. They are also known as flower balls or kissing balls. You can use them throughout the entire wedding theme as ceremony and reception decor, cake and dessert table accessories or as flower balls for your flower girls. When using pomander balls, try to use different colors and sizes. They can be made out of real flowers, silk flowers, tissue paper, book paper, ribbons, fabric and even feathers.

Tissue paper pomanders are the easiest and cheapest because of their ease and affordability, you can use a lot of them in big clusters for a “wow” effect.

I like the idea of making pomanders out of vintage book paper and newspaper, but it can be a time consuming DIY project. But if you're a handmade bride, by all means, go for it!

Fresh flower pomanders are the most sought after because of their natural beauty. You can either make your own fresh flower pomander or leave the pomanders up to your florist to make and design for you.

Why not try using pomander balls at your wedding as they add color and spice to the day.  Here are some great pomander wedding ideas.

Pomanders as Aisle Decor
Lining the wedding aisle is a fabulous use of pomanders especially for outdoor weddings. You can hang them from the end chairs or suspend them on tall shepherd hooks or plant hangers for added impact.

Pomander Balls as Table Centerpieces
You can rest them directly on the table as a stunning floral runner, or on the top of tall vases at varying heights. You might also want to consider hanging small kissing balls from a tree branch centerpiece.

These topiary place card holders are also a cute way to display your seat assignments and they can also double as wedding favors.

Hanging Pomanders or Ceiling Adornments
You can hang them from the trees, from the rafters, from chandeliers, or from the ceiling! I love seeing hanging pomander balls over each reception table or over the cake table or dessert buffet.
