Proper Church Attire

You might think that I am being old fashioned when I say this, but I feel this is important for you to know what is correct and helpful.

As the guest, you should honor the bride and groom's wishes and ALWAYS dress appropriately for the ceremony. Remember to dress tastefully and modestly when attending a church wedding ceremony. It’s done out of respect for the bride, groom, their families, their church and their religion.

It is entirely inappropriate for wedding guests to show up in jeans, T-shirts, sneakers, sweat shirts or dresses that leave absolutely nothing to the imagination. If you've decided to wear a strapless dress, just make sure you bring a pashmina or sweater to cover up during the ceremony. This is a sign of respect and you can always remove the sweater once you arrive at the reception.

If you're unsure of how to dress, try asking another friend who's been invited, or the maid of honor or the bride herself. They will be able to help you on what's acceptable. To be on the safe side, dress modestly for a church ceremony.
