Why not opt out for a traditional guestbook and go with postcards. Have guests compose their sweet wishes on the postcards and have them send their wedding wishes. You can place postcard stamps and address them prior to the wedding. It would be nice to read your first 'mail' as newlyweds the next day or when you return from your honeymoon to a brimming mailbox.

You can also make your own wedding guestbook postcards. You can choose your own photos and have them printed in matted style (visit Astonishing Cards to personalize it). Then mount each postcard on heavy card stock with a glue stick so they would be sturdier than regular photo paper. There is this great fantastic rubber stamp from Joann.com to use for the backs of the postcard -Unity Rubber Stamp-Vintage Postcard. Use a distress ink pads to give it a vintage look (old paper and vintage photo colors) and go on stamping.
