{Louisville Wedding Venues} Wedding Venues within Downtown Louisville

Wedding Venues in Downtown Louisville

Indoor weddings in Louisville are usually popular during the winter season and can be held within the Downtown district of Louisville. Downtown Louisville is the largest central business district in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is home to a great number of museums, hotels and historic sites. Its boundaries are the Ohio River to the north, Hancock Street to the east, York and Jacob Streets to the south, and 9th Street to the west. Couples getting married in this district (and their guests who are attending) enjoy visiting and exploring the various museums and attractions for their pre-wedding pictorials. Throughout the city, there are great places for those looking for an evening of fun and entertainment even after the wedding.

The Brennan House is a Victorian mansion located in the Louisville's downtown district. This Louisville wedding venue features an outdoor garden area for wedding ceremonies or receptions. The garden is able to accommodate 150 people for receptions. The Brennan House supplies chairs and tables for 75 people. If more than 50 people are attending the reception, a tent will be required (according to the Brennan House website). Catering is available from the house's staff or the wedding party can choose one of their own, but not required. The Brennan House only permits licensed bartenders to serve alcohol on the house's property.

Selected as the only Kentucky location featured in Martha Stewart Wedding's Magazine, this is one of the many confirmations why the Henry Clay building is truly a great wedding venue in Louisville. Marble staircases and columns, antique chandeliers, and a grand player piano are only a few of the things that make the Henry Clay stand out among Louisville wedding venues. Originally conceived as an Elks Lodge in 1924. Throughout the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s, the building was a premier hotel in the center of downtown Louisville. Home to the YWCA for many years, the building began to fall into disrepair after they left, predating nearly 20 years of total abandonment and neglect. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, renovations began in 2005 to bring the grande dame back to sparkling life. The result is unbelievable, as every possible architectural detail and treasure was revived by a fabulous team of craftsmen. It can be described as one of the most perfect setting for a wedding: romantic, classic, and chic.
