{Louisville Wedding Venues} The Henry Clay

Louisville Wedding Venues: The Henry Clay

Selected as the only Kentucky location featured in Martha Stewart Wedding's Magazine, this is one of the many confirmations why the Henry Clay building is truly a great wedding venue in Louisville. Marble staircases and columns, antique chandeliers, and a grand player piano are only a few of the things that make The Henry Clay stand out among Louisville wedding venues. Originally conceived as an Elks Lodge in 1924. Throughout the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s, the building was a premier hotel in the center of downtown Louisville. Home to the YWCA for many years, the building began to fall into disrepair after they left, predating nearly 20 years of total abandonment and neglect. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, renovations began in 2005 to bring the grande dame back to sparkling life. The result is unbelievable, as every possible architectural detail and treasure was revived by a fabulous team of craftsmen. It can be described as one of the most perfect setting for a wedding: romantic, classic, and chic.

As many as 450 guests can fit in the Henry Clay's Grand Ballroom with space for both dining and dancing. For smaller affairs, there is the Tavern Room that seats 65 or the Billiards Room that seats 85. Also when  wedding receptions are booked at the building, a rehearsal dinner also may be booked at the SkyLoft, a 10th-floor event space in the ZirMed Building at 888 W. Market St.
The Henry Clay is a stunning Louisville wedding venue. With both a large Grand Ballroom and the exquisite Beaux Arts room, it can accommodate almost any wedding or event. With an incredible foyer, incredible salons, and stately manner, the Henry Clay is always an incredible wedding venue to experience. With catering by Silver Spoon, your event is in good hands.
